Heart of Gold

This build all started while building the Lego globe set, and wondering if there was some way to make a sphere with no gaps. Enter, Bram’s Sphere Generator (https://lego.bldesign.org/sphere/). Now, I already had a globe, so the obvious next choice is the iconic Heart of Gold from perhaps my favourite movie, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

This thing is ridiculous and completely impractical for anyone else to build. It’s over 5,500 pieces, is a little over 30 centimeters in diameter, and weighs a little over five kilos. But I just had to do it. And, I feel like the ridiculousness and impracticality of it all just fit perfectly in this universe.
