Blade Runner is a classic, and I've been wanting to build Officer K's Peugeot Spinner from Blade Runner 2049 for a long time. I started on this model ages ago, but it's been sitting around for longer than I care to admit while I tried to find time to test it out. The test build revealed some issues, so I had to rework a few areas. But it's finally in a place where I can share it!

There were a lot of little details I wanted to include, and I'm pretty happy with how they all turned out. I had to make some compromises between rock solid stability and those details, but I think I found enough ways to add stability so it's solid enough!

I really wanted to include the transparent part of the lower door and the window on the side of the model. I couldn't find a way to add a transparent upper window, but I was really happy with how the door turned out with the transparent panels behind the unique angles of the door itself.

A few of the details you can only see from the back are the tire, engines, and license plate. I really wanted to use a rubber Lego tire for the back of the build, so I started with the underside and worked my way out.

Where the tire was the starting point for the underside, the big windshield (from the Back to the Future Delorean set) was the starting point for the top. It ended up setting the overall scale for the model.

In the interior of the model, I tried to include as many of the the various screens and other equipment as I could, which you can see fairly well from this angle.

The most difficult part of this build were trying to capture all the angles. I didn’t want to end up with something that looked blocky and square, so I spent a lot of time trying to get the angles right. I feel like I got as close as I can in Lego!

On the underside, the most frustrating part to work were the underside windows. There are no transparent parts available to connect these panels at angles to one another, so I had to attach the front angled panels to the dashboard and the bottom flat panels to the floor. This is one area where I had to spend time afterwards reworking and adding stability, but in the end it works!
